My Favourite WordPress Plugins

May 21st, 2006

I’ve installed and tinkered with enough WordPress plugins for them to warrant their own page!

  • WordPress Related Entries - Very handy WordPress plugin to help keep you older posts in sight. Note that I had to rewrite the code slightly to remove the use of a get_option() function. I don’t know where this function is supposed to be defined, but I don’t have it installed.
  • Brian’s Latest Comments - Another great WordPress plugin that does what it says on the tin.
  • Recent Love - A list of recent comments and the posts they were made on.
  • Sociable - For those funky little buttons at the bottom of each post.
  • Top Commentators - Reward your most frequent commentators with links.
  • FeedBurner Plugin - Redirect subscribers to your WordPress feed URL to your FeedBurner URL.
  • SimpleTags - A WordPress Plugin for generating Technorati Tags. Note that this plugin has been rendered redundant with the release of WordPress v2.3 which includes native tag support.
  • Popularity Contest - Automatically and dynically shows which of your posts are the most read.
  • Recent Comments - A more flexible recent comments plugin solution.
  • Spam Karma 2 - Sophisticated anti comment spam tool.
  • SemCodeFix - For preserving code formatting for display.
  • Subscribe to Comments - As the name suggests, this plugin allows readers to receive email notifications whenever a new comment is posted to a subscribed post.
  • Lots of great plugins!
  • Even more plugins!
