RegisterFly Has Been Swatted

March 18th, 2007

ICANN have finally decided to pull the plug on RegisterFly’s registrar accreditation and not before time, many will say. Whilst this hinders RegisterFly’s ability to continue business as a registrar it’s not going to stop them taking orders and nor does it provide any real consolation for those people who have domains still stuck in RegisterFly’s systems.

The only person who can really say what the future holds for RegisterFly and the domains it still ‘protects’ behind its WHOIS privacy service is the CEO, Kevin Medina. Only now, he’s probably got less of a reason to comply with ICANNs demands,

Between now and 31 March RegisterFly is required to unlock and provide all necessary Authinfo codes to allow domain name transfers to occur. Any and all registrants wishing to transfer away from RegisterFly during this period should be allowed to do so efficiently and expeditiously.

I guess time only will tell.

Mind Mapping Tool Giveaway

March 6th, 2007

Mind mapping can be an immensely useful tool for brainstorming and documenting your thoughts. There are plenty of choices when it comes to mind mapping software from the likes of the free FreeMind to the not so free Mindjet and MindGenius; both of which are feature-packed.

For the next 12 hours or so, you can get a copy of ConceptDraw’s MINDMAP (something in between the extremes referred to above) for free! That’s a saving of $119 without any outlay from you.

GiveAwayOfTheDay have been offering free stuff for a while now and whilst there’s no cost involved, some of the applications have been of dubious quality. This latest offering is definitely one of their better ones and if I didn’t already have a mind mapping tool, I’d definitely take up this generous offer.

Remember, these offers only last for 24-hours at a time so even if you think you won’t use it now, but might in the future then it’s worth getting a copy installed whilst it’s free.

Results Of List Building With Google AdWords Experiment

March 6th, 2007

My brief experiment into building a non-Internet marketing list for profit has come to a relatively clean point after running a 2-month Google AdWords campaign as the primary source of traffic.

The target market was a traditionally off-line, real world industry that consists of UK home business and shop owners alike. From the offset, I knew it was going to be a challenge to convince such an audience to spend their money on information-based products, but it was something I wanted to experience for myself.

Pursuing Happiness

March 5th, 2007

Whatever you’re doing with the time you spend working online, have you actually taken stock of why you’re doing it?

For many people involved in Internet-based business, success is measured by profits, but does having a bigger bank balance help them achieve happiness? For those who desire financial freedom or more free time, do they actually get it and are they happy when they do?
