I’m currently trying to build a list of newsletter subscribers in a non-Internet marketing niche, primarily through the use of a Google AdWords campaign offering a free info-product. If my ad-writing is on target, the free product should be just what qualified searchers are looking for and once on the list, each opt-in subscriber will receive a series of emails with useful advice and my promotions.
A recent question on a forum asking about where existing businesses could be bought reminded me of a couple of websites where they’re often sold; SitePoint and Daltons Business. As with any potential purchase of this kind, it’s prudent to carry out thorough research on what’s being offered. SitePoint’s Marketplace, in particular, can allow someone with a relatively small budget to hit the ground running with a fully operational, established business in very little time.
For someone who dreams about running their own business, but just doesn’t have the know-how or the drive to go through all of the necessary development, buying an existing business can be a short cut to their ambitions. Likewise, I’ve known people to take on board existing businesses only to find out that the customers never existed or were totally fed-up and on the brink of leaving. It can be a dream, but it can also be a nightmare.
Caveat emptor!

I like to watch other people. Do you?
There are still those who don’t believe in any such thing as a duplicate content penalty, but when your webpages have been hidden under the blanket of supplemental results and your competitors pages are showing instead it’s difficult to understand the arguments of the non-believers.
So who else is better to tell you about how the horse kicks than the horse itself?
Discover how Google deals with duplicate content. This is a very informative and much recommended read!

Once in a while, someone will come along, put together a huge package of digital products and then offer the lot for relatively little in a firesale. Right now, Sharlene Raven is that someone and there’s a good story behind why she’s running the firesale.
Early on in 2006, Sharlene’s husband Scott fell ill. This has forced Sharlene to take over the helm and keep their business running.
The firesale is part of the fund raising being carried out in order to pay for a specialist to take care of Scott.
Besides being able to help out someone in need, the firesale offers some nice products for very little cost. I’ve no doubt there will be some fillers, but I know there’s more than a few products I can use in some way to make back much more than my initial investment.
As seems to be the fashion with these types of events, the price of the offer is currently at it’s maximum discount at just $47. By the 15th of January, the cost of the package will be $97 so if you think you might have even a little bit of interest in such a package, it’s worth dropping by now to see if aything catches your eye.
Visit the firesale.
