Love it or hate it, but judging by the names that are currently trying to get established in this thing, it’s due to mark another milestone on the Internet marketing roadmap. The Next Big Internet Marketing Thing is happening right now and it’s…
Selling word links! From the ashes of pixel advertising rises the cloud of word links for hire.
It’s said that Joel Comm is responsible for this latest idea. He’s already made thousands of dollars from a website based upon his link script, but is it really all that innovative?
Are people snapping these links up because they’re an exciting new twist on advertising and search engine promotion or are they trying to buy a piece of the names behind them?
Cynics might say that it’s just a passing fad that offers little in terms of real value to the word buyers. The SEOs might argue that there’s very little benefit from many of these content-less sites and that there’s little difference between them and a page of unrelated links. The text-link marketers might say that there’s nothing new except for a different spin on an existing concept.
Can such a concept be considered part of an Internet business strategy or is it just a passing opportunity?
For Joel, he’s introduced a new concept to a loyal and eager audience, proved the concept can work incredibly quickly and bring in stacks of money, then offers the ability to replicate his success to others at a not-insignificant price. There’s no doubt that his using the script is only part of a bigger plan and sure, you could easily make back the cost of the purchase simply by selling just a few links at $100, but can you?
If you’re keen to try out this concept for yourself, consider a much cheaper alternative and let me know how you get on.

Whilst writing this post, I almost made the same pun as Miles Evans did about Joel Comm selling out
Anyone who believes this is a good idea, might be interested in some choice lots on the moon I have for sale. But don’t wait, they’ll sell out soon.
